Alexander the Great Coin Pendant – Herakles & Zeus (336–323 BC)

$850.00

Authentic Ancient Macedonian Coin | Hand-set in Solid 18k Gold

This pendant features a silver drachm struck during the reign of Alexander III of Macedon—better known as Alexander the Great. On the obverse, the hero Herakles faces right, wearing the lion-skin headdress of the Nemean lion—a symbol of strength, courage, and divine ancestry. This image, modeled after Herakles but believed to echo Alexander’s own likeness, was meant to evoke the young king’s heroic lineage.

The reverse shows the god Zeus, seated on a low throne, holding a long scepter in his left hand and an eagle—his sacred companion—in his right. The Greek inscription ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ ("of Alexander") affirms the king’s authority and legacy.

This coin was struck over 2,300 years ago, in the years following Alexander’s sweeping conquests across the known world—from Greece to Egypt to the edges of India. Today, it is reborn as wearable history—set by hand in solid 18k gold to preserve its classical lines and tactile power.

Each Peregrine Pendant is handcrafted around an authentic ancient coin—2,000 years old or more—and set with care in precious metal. Whether Greek, Roman, or otherwise, these coins once passed through real hands in history and now find new life as heirloom jewelry. Every piece is made to order or individually selected, preserving its unique marks and story. Our clients often describe the experience as holding a piece of history in their hand—and wearing it close to the heart.
